New School Timings in Punjab from 24 August 2026 Official Notification

All government and private schools under the Punjab School Education Department will reopen on 24 August 2026 after the summer holidays. These days many people are asking that since schools are reopening on 24 August 2026, what will the school timings be.

So let us tell you that before the holidays, the schedule that was in place ran from Monday to Thursday, with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off. However, the Punjab government has now ended the Friday holiday, and only Saturday and Sunday will now be off. If you are Govt School Teacher you can check your Pifra Salary Slip.

As for school timings, schools used to open at 8:00 AM and close at 1:30 PM. On Fridays there used to be a holiday, but now that there won’t be one, school will run until 12:00 or 12:30 instead. Similarly, for schools that operate in double shifts, the morning shift will run from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM, and the evening shift will run from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM.

There is no news yet about any extension of the school holidays. According to Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, the holidays will not be extended further, as a large number of holidays have already been given. From 24 August 2026, all school shifts will open at 8:00 AM.

پنجاب سکول ایجوکیشن ڈیپارٹمنٹ کے تمام سرکاری اور پرائیویٹ سکولز 24 اگست 2026 سے گرمیوں کی چھٹیوں کے بعد دوبارہ کھل جائیں گے اج کل بہت زیادہ لوگ اس کے بارے میں پوچھ رہے ہیں کہ سکول تو 24 اگست 2026 سے کھل جائیں گے مگر سکولز کے اوقات کار کیا ہوں گے تو اس کے لیے ہم اپ کو بتاتے چلیں کہ چھٹیوں سے پہلے جو اوقات کار چل رہے تھے وہ تھے سوموار سے لے کے جمعرات والے دن تک اور جمعہ ہفتہ اور اتوار کی چھٹی ہوا کرتے تھے لیکن اب پنجاب حکومت نے جمعہ کی چھٹی ختم کر دی ہے اور صرف ہفتہ اور اتوار کی چھٹی ہوا کریں گے تو اگر سکولز کے اوقات کار کی بات کی جائے تو اٹھ بجے صبح سکول کھل جاتے تھے اور ڈیڑھ بجے چھٹی ہوتی تھی اور جمعہ والے دن تو چھٹی ہوتی تھی لیکن اگر چھٹی نہیں ہوگی تو پھر 12 یا ساڑھے 12 بجے تک ٹائم ہوگا اور اسی طرح جو سکولز ڈبل شفٹ میں چلتے ہیں ان میں صبح کی شفٹ اٹھ بجے سے لے کے ساڑھے 12 بجے تک ہوگی اور شام کی شفٹ جو ہے وہ ایک بجے سے لے کے ساڑھے پانچ بجے تک ہوگی سکولز کی چھٹیوں کے سکولز میں چھٹیوں کی ایکسٹینشن کے بارے میں ابھی تک کوئی خبر نہیں ہے اور وزیر تعلیم رانا سکندر حیات کے مطابق چھٹیوں میں مزید اضافہ نہیں کیا جائے گا کیونکہ پہلے ہی بہت زیادہ چھٹیاں دی جا چکی ہیں اور 24 اگست 2026 سے تمام سکول اٹھ بجے سے اوپن ہو جائیں گے

School Holiday on Friday and Saturday

After Summer vacation from 24th August 2026 there will be no school holiday on Friday. Saturday will be the official holiday in govt schools for students and teachers will attend alternative Saturday according to their schedule. Govt of Punjab has cancelled the Friday school holiday a few weeks ago. Wednesday 26th August 2026 will be school holiday in all Pakistan due to Eid Milad un Nabi.
